Medium Length Haircuts To Suit Your Face

Medium length hair naturally suits different face shapes since there isn’t too much hair to overwhelm one’s features but just enough to lend them definition. For instance, if you have a long and thin face, then you should probably give the long straight hair look a miss.

You can understand this by taking a look at some of Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest pictures where she simply looks stunning in her medium length hairstyle with hair feathered lightly over her cheek bones and forehead.

There are also other different kinds of face shapes, these include round, oblong, oval, square, and heart shaped. Here is a brief look at the various styles that suit the above mentioned face shapes:

If you have an oval face, then you have the prospect of wearing just about any hairstyle, be it medium, short or long and if your face shape is oblong or rectangular it would be wise to choose a medium or short cut such as a ‘bang’ hairstyle.

This would lend a gentler and softer look to your face. Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Mariah Carey have oval shaped faces whereas the faces of Stephanie Seymour and Janet Jackson are oblong in shape.

A medium hairstyle that best suits a round face would be one that is swept back away from the face while creating more fullness and height at the crown. Perfect role models for this type of style are Christina Ricci and Kate Winslet.

For a heart shaped face, a chin length cut can do wonders while long hair should be avoided altogether.

A similar style is also recommended for those with square faces. The names of some famous heart-shaped faces include Claudia Schiffer and Michelle Pfeiffer and those of some square-faced stars include Demi Moore and Sandra Bullock.

Whichever medium hairstyle you choose for your face type, it is important to keep in mind that your personality is just as important as your face when it comes to making this decision.

New Hair Styles - Do you need one?

With summer almost here, do you find yourself thinking about a new hair style? There are a lot of popular hair cuts today that many are getting. The bob hair style, for example, has many different shapes and forms that can be seen among celebrities. Katie Holmes has the short version, while Gwyneth Paltrow and Paris Hilton are wearing the longer version.

The bob can be even all around or cut so that the hair in front is slightly longer than the back. Lots of texture and layers make the bob a great option for trendy hair.

Another great style today is the long curly hair style. Many women are getting hair extensions to create this beautiful style. Hair extensions let you have a long hair style in just a few hours--in case you aren't willing to wait years for your hair to grow out.

Whatever your desire, there are hair styles options for you today. From a simple change such as adding hair bangs, layers to getting hair extensions, you can get that new hair style quickly.

Amanda Bynes Winning Hair Style

Amanda Bynes is wearing a long, layered hair style that has lots of volume and texture.
Create this style on your own by first applying a volumizing product to the roots and blow dry the hair using a large round brush.
To create an extra smooth finish, you can run a flat iron over the hair from roots to the ends.
This particular hair style looks great with added highlights and lowlights mixed throughout the head. Notice that Amanda is letting her roots show. This is a very popular trend among celebrities. I'm not sure if they do it on purpose or they just don't have time to get their hair colored. Who knows?

Medium Bob with Bangs

The Comeback of the Bob Hair Style

The bob hair style is showing up everywhere this fall. There are short versions, long versions, medium versions and that doesn't even include the ones with all sorts of bangs.

The blunt bob, see photo left, works great to draw your attention to facial features such as the eyes and lips.

The bangs are kept silky straight and long--almost in your eyes.
